The Back Lining & Covering Patches
Full size linings are attached to the back when a textile has multiple damaged areas.
The lining protects the stitches of the work, improves the durability of the textile, and the appearance of the back. An open window or a window with a flap can be installed to view the weaving details of the back. In cases of multiple small holes and thinned out areas, the lining dyed to match the background of the areas will minimize appearance of this areas.
Covering patches are attached behind damaged areas where conservation was done, to protect stitches.
